Happy accidents.

They say that "necessity is the mother of all invention". In my case accidental dumb luck is also a major factor! Whilst playing with the settings on my new Canon r6 mk2, and using the flexible priority mode (Fv) for the first time ever, I accidentally fixed the iso at 125 when shooting f6.3 @ 1/640s for a zoom of 531mm. The stylistic "black" image of the greylag goose was the result. It will be interesting to see if I can recreate this effect on purpose next time.

Other accidents this week some greylag geese on the other side of the reservoir deciding to depart when I was setting up to take a picture of a flower. As I had not time to select a faster shutter speed the 1/500s setting had to suffice. Thank goodness for continuous shooting on modern cameras.

Finally when pulling into a lay-by to reset my satnav I saw this oystercatcher standing on a stone wall. The picture is heavily cropped as I only had a 24-105mm lens on the camera, but still a happy accident for me.
